Retinol seems to be a buzz word these days but in fact it has been around since the dawn of time. Retinol is in fact Vitamin A. So why are so many people suddenly using it on their skin? What are the benefits?
We have many people ask us what is the number one “best product” for mature(ing) skin. And while there are a few different ones I would recommend, depending on exactly what you are looking for in an outcome, Retinol is high up there on the “go to” list.
Vitamin A does a couple of specific things. It helps to increase collagen production and also helps increase new blood vessels in the skin. And here is why both of these are of the utmost importance when we start talking about maturing skin. Collagen is something that our body makes. It is basically the scaffolding that holds up the skin structure. As we age, we make less and less of it on our own. So anything that helps in increasing the production of collagen is a skin positive. This increases tone and tightness of the skin and also reduces fine lines and wrinkles. As to the addition of blood vessels; this improves blood flow to the site and improves and evens out color tone.
Retinol has many other lesser known benefits to the skin as well:
*neutralizes free radicals in skin
*helps with cell turn over which keeps new glowing skin at the fore front
*fades dark spots
*softens rough patches
*boosts both elastin and collagen production
*excels cell proliferation at epidermal layer (this is why it helps reduce dark circles under eyes)
it actually builds thickness of skin, leaving it less transparent which is what happens when
dark circle occur.
How to Use:
Our Glo Serum is easy to use. Simply wash face thoroughly and apply a dime sized amount of serum to face and neck. Do not shy away from under eyes and below brows, of course staying away from eye it’s self. Allow a few moments to fully sink in and follow up with your favorite moisturizer. Can be used morning or evening, which ever fits best into your busy schedule.
How long does it take to start seeing results? We usually ask people to give it 4-6 weeks but have had many people begin to notice a difference in their skin in as little as 14 days.
Ladies (and gentlemen), this truly is a game changer for many peoples skin. Our Retinol serum is a 1% retinol based in hyaluronic acid (best of both worlds we believe) to read up on our HA blog click HERE. Some people find retinol to be drying, remember a serum is created as a vehicle for a specific skin nutrient and not meant to be everything at once. Still use a moisturizer when using this product. Apply and allow serum to sink in fully before using a moisturizer.
I have tried many different products looking for a serum that wasn’t too heavy but that would provide the moisture and benefits of lessening the visibility of wrinkles, pores, and sun spots. This product is the first I’ve found that I can honestly say has done all of these things. I can’t recommend this product enough! -Candice July 2020
